Migrating basket and checkout onto a Node and React stack.
We worked in the team migrating Moonpig's basket and checkout during a large re-platform, from October 2020 to January 2021.
These describe the client and the system, not our contribution. What we did is in the sections below.
Moonpig sells greeting cards and gifts online. A large re-platforming project was under way, moving to a Node and React stack, and from October 2020 we were part of the team migrating the basket and checkout sections of the site.
The scope was two sections of a much bigger programme, and it reached through both of them. The API behind basket and checkout was rewritten, and new functionality and new designs went into React.
We worked in the team that migrated the basket and checkout sections. That meant rewriting the API underneath them, then implementing the new functionality and the new designs in React.
Our record names the sections we worked on and the technology, and that is the whole of it. It does not describe how the programme was sequenced, and it does not say whether the re-platform finished.
The technology list sets .NET Core alongside Node and React without saying which parts of the work sat where. We are not going to reconstruct that from a list, so this page does not describe how the migration was carried out.
There is no figure attached to the engagement, which is why nothing is quoted at the top of this page.
